 About TRICHOLOGY TODAY

Hello, my name is Jacqueline Tarrant and I, have been a Beauty Professional for many years.

I am a licensed Cosmetologist a Certified Trichologist and a HAIR-OLGIST. In other words, I specialize in helping people stop hair loss, grow healthy hair and keep the healthy hair once they grow it; all while I delivering trendy styles that clients love.

I must confess, I absolutly love the beauty industry, and it has been very good to me.

I've owned salons on the east coast and in the mid-west. I've been Product Development Specialist and Director of Education for Loreal USA. I'm a published author and I currently write the Hair Advice column for the #1 Ethnic Beauty Magazine. In 2007, I opened the Hair Trauma Center in downtown Chicago focusing on Trichology, hair loss and thinning issues.

Somewhere around 2004, while I was still in working for Loreal, I began to notice an increasing amount of women with hair thinning and hair loss complaints. Many of these women were not your typical female suffering from aging hair. I noticed an overwhelming number of young women in their 20's and 30's with balding hairlines and thinning crowns. Yes there are many causes of hair loss including genetics, unbalanced hormones, and side effect of medication auto-immune disease just to name a few possible causes.

Unfortunatly too much of the hair loss I see caused by people, not conditions. Yes, Traction Alopecia from Tight Braids, Aggressive Weaves and Misguided Styling Practices like overly tight high pony tails secured with scalp puncturing pins. Though some damage is done at home by kitchen beauticians, a decent amount of the hair loss I consult and treat is caused by stylist in salons.

When consumers go to salons, for help with these issues, too often they are not properly addressed; in fact, many of the clients I have treated have had these very styles recommended as a way to give the hair a break from chemicals and heat; when in fact these styles make the problem far worse. I have come to the conclusion that many stylist are not sure how to address the issue of hair loss, but many would like to learn. I would like to beleive that as we know better, we do better.

I really want to share the technique I have developed with my stylist community.

Stay tuned for upcoming newsletters, seminars and classes to help you FUND your FUTURE!
